Grayson Perry visit "Delusions of Grandeur" is the title of Grayson Perry's exhibition of his work especially created for the Wallace Collection. Perry has created art which is inspired by Hertford House and the works of art contained in the Wallace Collection. It is remarkable and inspiring. Perry was asked to fill a couple of rooms in Hertford House with his work - it took him a long time - at least two years. I had to book individual tickets which I have done. I have also arranged for us to have a private guided tour of the Wallace Collection. The Wallace Collection is a fabulous collection of treasures. It includes an outstanding array of 18th century French art, many important 17th - 18th century paintings, medieval and Renaissance works of art, and one of the finest collections of princely arms and armour in the UK. The famous works of art include Rembrandt's "self-portrait in a Black Cap", Frans Hals, "The Laughing Cavalier", Fragonard's "The Swing", Elisabeth Le Brun's "Madame Perregaux" and several Canaletto's of Venice. The collection also houses many amazing items of furniture and clocks. Plenty to gaze at!

Transport – Coach from Priory Lane, Burford – at 8.30 am We are booked into the Guided tour of the Collection at 11.30 am (which lasts an hour). I have booked slots to see the Grayson Perry at 1.45 pm and 2 pm to allow time for lunch.
Cost is £78.00 for members. This includes:
- the cost of entry into the "Delusions of Grandeur Exhibition"
- the cost of the private guided tour of an hour around the Wallace Collection and
- the cost of the coach to and from Burford to outside the Wallace Collection in Manchester Square; to see the Exhibition (as well as to go round the other galleries).
The price does not include any food or drink. There is a very nice restaurant/café which serves brunches, lunch and light refreshments in the covered courtyard of Hertford House (which is the building which houses the Wallace Collection). I will reserve places for us in the restaurant at lunch time.
